These classic refrigerator stacking dishes have a new twist, or rather, a new handle! Too beautiful for food storage, make this piece the centerpiece of your next party. The set with handles is inspired by an original, circa 1932, designed by Louis Ipsen and Victor F. Houser for J. A. Bauer Pottery Company. It may be seen during the exhibition, California Design, 1930–1965: “Living in a Modern Way,” organized by LACMA.
We teamed up with Bauer Pottery Company of Los Angeles whose Bauer 2000 line has brought original pieces of J. A. Bauer Pottery back into production. While the original company was in business from the 1880s through the 1960s, Bauer now specializes in items originally manufactured in the 1930s and 40s.
This set is an open edition, made exclusively for LACMA during the course of the exhibition. We also added our LACMA logo to the bottom stamp of the blue bowl so that you will always know this is the limited edition set.
- Set includes 3 bowls (one each blue, orange and yellow), one yellow lid and attached metal and oak handles
- Blue bowl features a LACMA and Bauer bottom stamp
- Each bowl is 5-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches
- Made entirely in Southern California
