Echo Park Pottery Large Mug Double Dipped
$90.00
The Echo Park Pottery large mug is hand-crafted, and the glazes are hand-dipped. These are designed by ceramicist and sculptor Peter Shire and made by residents of the Los Angeles neighborhood Echo Park. Shire founded the pottery in 1972 to create ceramics that were more reasonably priced than his gallery work and named it after the L.A. neighborhood where he was raised.
LACMA's collections include five works by Peter Shire, who was one of the few American members of the Memphis group (active from 1981 to 1988), founded by Italian designer Ettore Sottsass.
